Yummy Yummy in my tummy...

Today I was thinking of doing a leg workout, but after one of the worst sleeps in my life last night I just don't have the energy to go into it with the intensity I want to. For this reason and because I don't have another workout planned for tomorrow I'm going to hold off and workout tomorrow when I can put in MAXIMUM intensity. So, to preoccupy me for the night (in between my mini comas) I took pictures and made brownies. I figure I better enjoy them while I can before the contest diet starts. Oh and with these decadent ooey gooey brownies I will be watching Deadlist Warrior - Roman Centurion vs. Rajput... I got my money on the Romans.

Skip it & Suffer

Yesterday I did something bad... really bad. I skipped my workout (shame on me, I need a spanking I know). I slept in big time, honestly I think I sleep about 14 hours but to my defense I plead that I was in sleep debt from last week. Anyways, long story short it got to 11pm and the workout was still not done so I put it off til today. Now as my punishment I got to do a double - 2.5 hour - workout. I learnt two lessons: 1. to do my workouts on the day I'm supposed to 2. how exhausting it is to do a 2.5 hour workout & how much it decreases your overall strength. Needless to say, I don't plan on repeating this anytime soon.

Also, today was a major gardening day and it will continue on to tomorrow. Nazaire and I went out and bought lots and lots of plants: flowers, veggies, herbs... you name it, we got it! We even went on a little adventure into the unknown when the greenhouse in the town over was closed and we had to improvise. We ended up finding this cute little family owned nursery established in '79, wish I could have taken a picture but I forgot the camera. We've planted most of it and the rest we'll finish next weekend.

P.S. How amazing is it that Bret won the apprentice... I'm very excited! Was cheering for him the whole way! Congrats and great job keeping on, very inspiring!

Serentity

Tonight I headed over to hot yoga again. However, this time I was with my boyfriend, best friend Andrea, and her friend Zach. It was karma friday which is a minimum $8 donation day, and being the long weekend kick-off the class was half empty (pessimism at its finest haha). I went into the sweaty hot room thinking this is going to be a breeze, but 5 minutes in yoga instructor Tori kicked my butt. The poses were longer and the muscles burned much stronger. I liked the challenge though and left the room with a very relaxed grin on my face. Nazaire liked it too, despite the groans I heard all class and the fact that he looked like he was about to die at any given moment that I turned my head and had a look. After that we got home and watched a documentary on prostitutes... what a perfect Friday.

HOT YOGA - 1 HOUR - 550 CALORIES

Dripping wet...

...That's exactly what I was after finishing 60 minutes of hot yoga with Melissa. We finally went to try it out since we both had a free pass and wow what an experience. I'm not going to lie, I was terrified that I was going to die and that it would be so hard (I heard it can make you feel like your going to pass out or throw up haha) and I would be screwed for my weight session after. But, it was actually pretty easy for the most part and very relaxing. Honestly though the amount I sweated out was AMAZING, I didn't know I could even sweat that much. My top was completely soaked. My workout tights were completely soaked. My hair was completely soaked. And, the towel I put on top of my mat was completely soaked. I guess that's what the 104 F room does to you. It was great though and I would definitely supplement it into my workout program here and there when I feel like I need something new.

Then upon getting home there was no resting for me, I had to go straight downstairs to the gym and tear my legs up. After that I headed up to have a horrible ice-cold shower in an effort to reduce muscle soreness in the next few days.

Just one of those days, or maybe weeks.

The 5 days have been a struggle to say the least, especially today. I'm just sooooo drained... I don't know if I'm sick from my brother Reid, because Nazaire is feeling similar, or if it's the weather, but whatever it is I want it gone... PRONTO! Regardless though I've been pushing through and ecstatic that I today just so happens to be a rest day anyways.

Since there is not much to report and it's a fairly slow day for me (for once!) I've put together some progress pics... ENJOY!

Oh and p.s. I've been trying to eat more carbs and protein lately to try and build as much muscle as I can before I have to start dieting, hopefully it works!

PERSERVERANCE

Napoleon Bonaparte once said, "Victory belongs to the most persevering."

I've taken the plunge and am jumping into UFE Halloween Mayhem, on October 23rd 2010 and Napoleons strong words are my new training motto.

This first entry is a little late, but as a chronically late person 'better late then never' is how I roll. ;) Basically I've started training doing a split geared towards muscle hypertrophy: chest/triceps, shoulders/back/biceps & lowerbody. + abswhich I fit in where I feel to. And most body parts I do 2-3 exercises and 3-4 sets of 10-12 reps, though it varies at times. I'll go in more depth with each workout, this is just the basics. A quick snapshot!

I hope you've enjoyed my first post. I've certainly enjoyed writing it. Check back again soon (I'll attempt to update daily) for another completely random sample of the things rattling around in my head, totally out there findings, and the hectic training I'm up to. Hopefully something cool will pop out! Let the wild ride begin!

P.s you can clearly tell by the photo that I'm a wiener. I mean winner. :P (terrible humor is my speciality, get used to it haha)
